After using the dovetails to mark out the pin recesses, Paul saw and chisels out the waste, taking particular care with the shorter central recess and the fitting of the joint. After having cut all four dovetailed corners, he assembles the apron and lays out the mortice and tenon for the cross bearer.
Can you use the hand router for the houndstooth?
You can indeed.
It’s just not Fair!! I think I invented a new Hounds tooth. I’m going need a trip to the dentist for some cavities I believe. lol
I’m not sure, and Paul certainly knows MUCH better than me, but those don’t look like the houndstooth dovetails I was taught.
I will have to look at some other work, then upload a photo of what I was taught.
From what I remember the arrangement was different and it didn’t require the “blind” dovetail portion. Maybe it is just called something else?
