It’s very summery at the workshop and the brilliant, beaming sunshine is the perfect weather for working wood. Then again, we’re in the UK, so we’ll make do with the companionable patter of rain on the windows.
This week’s photo submissions are surely provided by the most stalwart of woodworkers; unstoppable in any weather.

Rocking Chair by Norbert Pauli
This rocker I made from a wonderful plank of walnut wood. The jointed seat frame is upholstered with coconut fiber and covered with genuine leather. I am happy to say that my dad (89) enjoys it much. A smile makes it all worthwhile.

Rocking Chair by Norbert Pauli
This rocker I designed and built over the past 9 month. The picture is showing the dry fit (seat to frame). Even though completely different in appearance, the geometry of Paul’s Craft man style Rocker influenced it strongly. It’s all baby steps and it began with discovering woodworking masterclasses for me in 2015.

I’m sitting here this fine morning looking at project photos from some of your followers. THe plywood workbench looks particularly inviting, made by Justin Schafer. It’s simple but meets all my needs. I am particularly drawn to the beautiful vises he’s mounted to his bench. I can picture myself spending many satisfying hours cutting joinery there.
Love that Wall Mounted Tool Cabinet by George Oldridge – if only I could get my tools to look that neat 🙂
