Paul shows you how to make some clamping blocks which help you when edge jointing a waney edged board as they enable you to evenly clamp them.
Nice video Paul, especially the part where you scribed the line to the piece. I never thought of it to get the angle right like that, so simple when I think about it. Real nice. Thanks a lot!
Hahaha! Great way to catch the wood block from the floor (with the saw). Only a master with a lot of experience can act this Way.

Very clever! By the way, I was clamping up about 30 dovetail drawers 7″ deep and per drawer box I used two clamps, using two pieces of wood that had a slight curve on it (I recalled this idea from your advise on clamping a board with a single clamp.) it worked very well! Thanks again for sharing your knowledge, dear Paul!
Nice works as usual Paul. Interestingly I am creating a prototype of some rustic Waney Edge Frames in out soft Eastern White Pine. I’m hoping to add a hidden spline for strenght, so I just have to be able to pull the miters together wile the glue set.
The edges are very fragile and am having a little bit of a challenge clamping the miter. Clamp Dogs would work on the back of the frames, but I do not own any and none of the stores here carry them.
Thought about gluing on clamp block on the back and using hand screws.
Might try some shrink wrap tomorrow since I have that handy. If not I will attempt making 8 of these and line them with a cushion foam.
Lots of opportunities for creativity. Want to do it the least costly and yet most affective way should this become something I might have to make allot of.

in a real shop…
For scribing…
I use a small compass…
held level…
with the top surface.
Of course this means…
another tool on the bench…
and a different step…
in the workflow…
(omit the chisel).
Two pencils stacked…
Sideways Outside the edge…
will also transfer the shape…
Further On to the block.
PS:
One or two pieces of cardboard…
Will cushion the softer waney edge…
against the end grain of the block.
Love that trick and the practice of multiplication by division.
