The tenon is cut and adjusted for a close fit in the mortise before the protruding end is rounded over. Then there are a few areas to refine with a little shaping before the leg frame is glued up.
Thank you for showing how to diagnose where things are hanging up, such as the bulge/hump in the end of the mortise cut.
Cutting perfect joints every time leaves us with precious little reference about how to solve problems. Perhaps you should more often cut imperfect joints so we learn more about diagnosing hos to make them fit. 🙂
