In the episode, Paul shows how to fit and recess the hinges on the box. He tells us what to look out for when using brass hinges, and how to line up the top and bottom of the box when fitting them.

In this episode, Paul shows us how to accurately saw our boxes into two sections. He then shows us how to plane the edges of the top and bottom so that the chest will close snuggly. Difficult grain? See several ways of dealing with it.

In this week’s episode, Paul shows how to glue on the top of the chest and glue and screw on the bottom, including how to recess the screws. He also shows what to do if we have twist or cupping in our chest.

In this episode, Paul shows how to pare down the corners and plane and scrape the outside of the box. He then planes the top and bottom edges to prepare them for the gluing on of the top and bottom frames. He finishes off by marking the box ready for sawing it into two parts.
