Yesterday at night I had a very nice/big “masterclass”…

After some rehearsals it was time for glue up!
Simple right??? And what about clamps… and some extra hands….

It was a very nice experience…
I used regular wood glue and no proper clamps… Need Ideas…Cargo straps!!!

(because I’m still learning stuff about hot hide glue (its quite inexpensive around here) and how to “translate” the “proper strength” to the man in the store… Tidebond Hide a bit expensive and Old Brown Glue from US pays more taxes than the product itself.)

Any way, gluing such a big project, with all these panels wobbling made me sweat at 11pm wearing just a T-shirt in my garage with no heating system around.

Lesson learned, even small discrepancies in one piece will make differences in squareness. I have 1.5mm aprox of difference in the diagonal lines.
My wife told me it was very nice and she didn’t notice a thing.
But I KNOW, shame on me….

Over all I’m ok with the results so far!
