I have an English made Marples cutting gauge that I bought new around 30 years ago. The blade came with a rounded tip. These blades are small–about 3/64″ thick and less than 1/4″ wide before the bevel so reshaping the bevel wouldn’t take much work if you preferred a different shape.
FWIW I’m another fan of wheel type marking gauges. My favorite is a wooden one by Dunlap (an old “budget” brand formerly sold by Sears Roebuck).
