I purchased a Hygrometer in order to measure the humidity in my shop and thought it would be extremely low. As it turns out it is 35%, and although it is in the range of 30% to 50% for comfort it may be one of the factors for the static occurring when I use my planes. It still is driving me nuts! I know at other times of the year (non heating/ac), the humidity is higher, and yet it still happens. I don’t know the solution…but if I find it, I will update my findings.
