I assume this is a 1950’s I doubt that it’s older, I am very pleased with the way this saw has turned out I wish I had of taken before shots as well but I’ve had it lying around for a few months now and in the last two weeks I started to do some work to it.
I sharpened it and it’s just amazingly sharp not even my LN saws came in this sharp and the smoothness of the cut amazed me as well. I refinished the handle leaving all the bumps and bruises left by it’s predecessor and I cleaned up nuts and medal.
The blade is straight but close to the handle there is a small curve which stubbornly wouldn’t go out it may be a kink but being so close to the handle it doesn’t effect it’s performance.
All in all it was a fun project and I have another one which is J.Taylor & Sons it’s 16″ long actually it’s exactly the same saw I posted a while back the one I had made for me. I’m not sure who J.Taylor was but it just may be 150years old. I could be wrong but it looks from that era. I will have to make a new handle for it, pity.

I don’t have anymore room in my saw till and I plan on getting some more saws I actually quite enjoyed the process of restoring it even though the handle was hard work, if you had of seen what it looked like before you would be amazed at the transformation even I can’t stop glancing at it. I have a keen cutter which is my go to saw for all my panel crosscuts but I reckon this one will replace it, I have sharpened it that sharp that you could easily tear your skin on it if you weren’t careful.
