Came into a few old tools today, an old Disston & Sons crosscut saw and an inch wide bevel edge chisel. The saw I know what to do with, I’ve never fit a handle to a socket chisel.. I assume you get a rough shape to fit the socket then keep adjusting until it fully seats. Material I plan on using is black walnut, is this suitable? My only other option is red oak. Is there a proportion ratio to determine the length of the handle? Use of Epoxy?
Thanks in advance,
John
