I was looking for a deal on Stanley 11-041 replacement blades and came across this message at http://www.stanleytoolparts.com/11-041-1-2-0-4.html
“Description :
THIS ITEM NO LONGER AVAILABLE AS A SPARE PART. PLEASE VISIT http://WWW.STANLEYTOOLS.COM AND ENTER ’11-041′ IN SEARCH BOX FOR ONLINE RETAILERS.”Of course, if you to to http://WWW.STANLEYTOOLS.COM AND ENTER ’11-041′ IN SEARCH BOX FOR ONLINE RETAILERS.” then it takes you back to stanleytoolparts.com.
This is the only place that says they’re discontinuing these blades but given their close relationship to Stanley tools I think it might be significant.
BTW, I’ve found several vendors who sell the individual blades for significantly less than they sell the 10 and 8 packs when you compare on a per blade basis. I don’t know why but on one site it was a matter of $1.25 more PER BLADE to order the 10 pack. Do the math, save the money.
The cheapest I’ve seen is on Ebay. $5.41US each, shipped:
Paul has a blog about how to go about sharpening these blades:

Huh, Stanley website gives me a selection of places to buy from … go to the product page first, then select ‘buy online’.
11-041:

Kevin I found some deals on them with a little hunting. What surprised me was the message that the replacement blades were discontinued.
