I am working out how I am going to make a table top lectern with a top which slopes from front to back. This is a first attempt at design. It seems to me that if I made a single piece to do the job with a mortice and tenon square at both ends that might do the job.

IS this crazy or might it work? It is a lectern so not a huge weight bearing issue and the picture is not to scale.
Grateful for any thoughts.
Thanks.
Your idea should work as most chairs have angled tenons. Go for it…
