this one is as rough as toast but will make a fantastic scrub plane once its been de-rusted cleaned and a little (ok a lot) of TLC but for £2 the exercise alone is worth that it would cost me a tenner to go swimming and i think i’ll get more blood pumping doing this what do you think

This is the first time ive used white vinegar on rust i’ll be using it again as ive just won another #4 on ebay for £1,
12 June 2014 at 8:31 pm #58465ok this is the last #4 i’m going to buy this one cost .99 p and a 15 mil drive to wigan to collect ,i cleaned the rust off this one with hammerite rust remover its much quicker than white vinegar and a damn site cleaner and IMHO its better i hope the pics turn out this time, i can’t see why these tools end up on the tip they woll out last any new machine.
12 June 2014 at 9:12 pm #58469I’ts shocking what people throw away. I found three steel sash clamps in the local scrap yard. Two are 66″ and one 33″ so I took them home. They’re no masterpieces but should clean up nicely.
12 June 2014 at 9:17 pm #58470its that throw away mentality that keeps me in tools so let them carry on i say their loss is our gain lol
