Thanks Ken and Greg
Finished tray joinery got to give a bit of a clean up and then glue tray up.
I have got to fix a couple of little bearers in box to hold tray to stay flush with top of box.
I have then got to fit hardwareAttachments:

I have got to fit a couple of small bearers for my tray.
When I put my tray in it like a set of bellows as I push tray down the air is forced out may be a bit too tight.
Still thinking about lock. The lock I got I will have to modify it a little for it to work.
I am now thinking of sprucing box up with Oak and Mahogany star on front.
No wonder it takes me a long time to make something keep adding bits. 😀Attachments:

I forgot the keep plate was attached to top and put in my vice, so I could plane a few shaving off of edge of top. One catch bent over, when I tried to straighten catch it broke off. 🙁
Lock still works but it is so annoying after carefully fitting.
Also the little screws for the escutcheon plate to long. I filled them down but they do not bite into wood.
When I have put finish on I will use a bit of super glue to hold screws and escutcheon in place.
I have put bearers in to hold tray but they are not glued yet.
I quite happy with the way it is looking.
I have come in for a cup tea.
I have decided definitely going to put star on box 🙂Attachments:

2 January 2014 at 9:11 pm #25083The box was orinally made to be open top box for my hand router. I just kept devoloping box.
As for use have not got clue. Most of the things I make at the monument are more for skill building rather than for a purpose.6 January 2014 at 6:35 pm #25378Beautiful work Mark! That star inlay is really going to pop when you put the finish on. Very well done all around.
