Azobe wood for mallets

    I bought some Azobe/ekki wood from some guy thinking it’s something else. It is very hard, almost impossible to work with hand tools. But I think it’s great for making mallet heads – as you can see in the link, the Janka hardness number is very high meaning it doesn’t dent easily (if I understand correctly that number).

    So if anyone in Belgium(Leuven) is struggling to find wood for making a mallet (like I was once), I’ll be happy to share a piece (for free of course).
