A 043 Record Plough Plane in a very old box bit broken must be 50’s early 60’s plane and cutter pretty good order. Also got a tool rest for my Tormek grinder

I came under hard times a couple of years back and sold My Record 5 1/2 .
The one I just got is really nice. Planned edge on bit of Oak as iron was pretty sharp and produced fine shavings. I like weight of 5 1/2.
The 043 feel quite comfortable in hand cutters need a little hone up but I tried it anyway and worked surprisingly well.
I’m looking to get another Record 405 better than the one I got recently they hold quite a good price.
I started looking at E Preston stuff and I dare not look at Norris stuff.

🙂 No stopping you now buddy, that slippery slope is just around the corner.

I don’t know who will get there first you or me HaHa. What the hell, I have no family, I don’t drink or go out. This is my time, my love of working wood with a passion. Enough said. 😉

I do have a love afair with tools.
I admit I am more of a collector than user. I do intend to change that and use them more.

I hate going into tool shops always come out with more than I want.
The internet just made me worse.
I think they should bring out a help group for people like me called TA Tools Anonymous

I know it does become a bit of an addiction, I have started selling my prized guitars to pay for my habit 🙂
I just took delivery of a Quangsheng no.4, no.7 and block plane plus a sweetheart shoulder plane. The way I’m going I will need a bigger garage!

I am thinking of getting Quangsheng no: 7 would like to know what you think Martin and Ken.
I have just received sweetheart no: 4 what a lovely piece of kit. I had a little go on a piece of old hardwood sill I had probably meranti. Worke straight out of box did not even hone. I like the adjuster all in one. Heavier than a normal no: 4. The mouth adjuster make quit a difference to shavings you get. Very happy indeed :).

Mark, It is one nice plane. Sole is flat and square to the sides, the Iron Is ready straight out the box, but after a quick hone I was getting full width shavings of a thou or less. Workshop Heaven’s are better quality than others on the market. I have no affiliation with them, but Matthew has his speck to a standard not a price, plus you have a life time warranty off the guy.

Nice No 4 plane buddy, pleased you are happy with it. Enjoy 😉
