“Tea makes a better woodworker.”
I’m sure there are a couple million woodworkers who would disagree here in the US! lol
Seattle-ite here, and even though I live in the land of coffee and Starbucks, I have to agree with Paul. 🙂 Nearly every time I got to my bench I have a cuppa tea in my hand.
I like “eyeball it” when setting up the marking gauge or planing an edge. Then he’ll often say “Perfect”. Another favorite is “planed dead square”..
Hope to say these myself one day.. 🙂
” I know some of you, cynical people out there are saying yea thats’s pine not oak. Well, you give me the oak and you pay for my oak and I ll show you what it can in oak too”
Classic!
I’ll chime in…
“That should help to keep your blood sugars low” (usually when sawing or planing some heavy stock)
My favorite so far :
“Story of my life : pretty good length wise but a tad bit on the fat side” when doing tenons.
Is it just me or am I the only one who hears all sorts of quotes from Paul in my head? Usually in the line of “good sharp chisel” or “make sure it’s sharp”.
“Dead straight/square” works well too.
Should I see the doctor?

I always get a kick when he says “oops”. I know it’s not a quote but it just puts a smile on my face.

When drilling holes in the occasional table: “This is really ‘bore’ing. I found it funny when looking up to see the reaction of the film crew. 🙂
