    I have found this, rather unusual, plane on the internet. Does anyone know what it is for, and how to use it?
    I would like to buy it, but i dont want to buy something useless.

    Help?

    @demewill

    Record makes a similar plane called a softboard or fiberboard plane. It is used for trimming and beveling insulating panels. It probably works well for ceiling tiles and Homasote panels. I think I have also read somewhere they can be used Masonite panels also.

    For Patrick Leach’s somewhat subjective take on Stanley’s fibreboard planes, Nos.193,194 and 195, click on the link below and scroll down.
