    Thanks ehisey. I figured it out and fixed it up. I did see that video you are referring to, among many other articles and videos. They all helped, along with Paul’s articles and videos and everybody commenting here, to get this thing squared up.

    I’d fire off an email to Starret.

    They can probably tell pretty easily if your square is out of square due to manufacturing issues or to abuse.

    And I suspect a co pony that stakes its fortunes on a reputation for accuracy has little interest in disappointing a customer even past the warranty date.

    Tell them the history and ask them how they can help.

    Worst case… you will pay a repair charge rather than a new tool price.
