I made a small computer desk, Shaker style. The legs and aprons are cherry. Thinking about a pine top. I know the Shakers did this, but I’m unsure about the look. Any insight? Anybody have any pics?

Hey thanks. I totally forgot I posted this. I did. Went with a cherry top. I have a love hate relationship with pine.

    That looks really good.
I’ve been trying to settle on style/design for my daughters homework desk. I think you leaned me to shaker style. If only I was confident enough to do a hinged lift-up desktop and incorporate storage ….

Thanks. I have 2 daughters too. They’re both asking for small desks too. I think I will do something similar to this. I really like the Shaker style. And cherry always looks good and is a good price. Do mine, I think Ill do a center drawer…..keep me posted on what you come up with.

Questioning yourself about your ability keeps you from progressing. I know because I do it all the time. Just do it.

This is really beautiful in its clean lines and simplicity. Do you happen to know about how many board feet of cherry you used?

    Sorry I can’t remember. It’s 24x19x30. 7/8” aprons. 1” top.
