Thought I posted this yesterday but perhaps I forgot to submit. For some reason, there isn’t a chessboard thread in the main projects forum so I’ll put it here. This is my 2nd one and it has improved since my first (better mitres/boarder on this one). The thicknessing jig works quite well, though I have a couple of low spots in a couple of squares that didn’t come out perfectly. Also, my biggest challenge seems to come on the 2nd glue-up (with the tape) which is really a test of how square and straight you have planed the end-grain–a nice challenge/skill building exercise and the part of the project that has so far taken the most amount of time for me. Anyway, mahogany and curly maple with a mahogany border and dovetail splines. Thanks for looking.
