You may not have seen this because I have not been actively working on this project for sometime.28 April 2014 at 9:03 pm #56557Those pieces are simply… perfect! Great project! Thank you for posting.
26 April 2015 at 9:21 pm #126744Been away for a while but I have got going on my coffee table.
Glued edging onto MDF top and have stuck veneers down using hot scotch/hide glue.
I have got to chamfer edges of edging and prepare the top for finish[attachment file=”image.jpg”]

@nobby1967 – I just reread this entire thread and what an absolutely fantastic job you did on this coffee table! I can’t believe I missed it the first time through. I have also found an interest in veneering and have found some wonderful pieces of walnut burl that will need to be seemed together like yours. I was curious, do you have any advise for making the seems?
Congratulations on the completed project!!

Note to self: new finishing regime – 70 coats of shellac.
19 June 2015 at 11:08 pm #127908Cheers lads.
I’m just not a paid up member anymore.
I still like to have a look here every once and a while.
The forum seems a little quieter than it used to be.
Also Paul Sellers dose not seem to be moving towards the type of stuff I would like to do. No disrespect to PS I still think he is a very good furniture maker and teacher.
I also go to a small workshop once a week called The London School of Furniture Making.
Where I finished coffee table. I’m also attempting to make a Victorian style chair and I have made a couple of wooden planes.
I also help very inexperienced pupils of the school with some basic woodworking skills.
Very rewarding indeed ? -
