I was searching for a block plane on eBay and the Faithfull block planes showed up in the results. They sell a set with a 9 1/2 and a 60 1/2 plane in a box. Apparently they are made in India (Anant?) and I’ve read some quite positive reviews of them. Are they serviceable tools? The set with 2 planes costs pretty much the same as, or even less than, a used 60 1/2 in unknown condition so the price alone make them interesting.
Personally Iwould rather have and do own several vintage Stanley’s, Miller Falls, and sergeants planes. I am not a fan of those “cheap” knock off’s, and if I were to buy new it would be Lee Valley ( Veritas ) or LN planes. Just my $.02
