Paul used 22mm thick stock and cut a 10mm grove and mortice. I’m using 19mm stock as that’s what I have available. Should I keep the groove mortice the same width (10mm), or reduce it to 6mm?

    tomps….,
A proportionate reduction would be thus:
    10/22=0.4545 x 19= 8.6364 mm
So an 8 mm chisel (~5/16″) would work better in keeping the same visual appearance than a 6 mm.
As regards the joint integrity, I don’t think it matters.
    Best,
