Hi folks I am new to the site a retired painter and decorator had to retire from my business with spinal trouble.
Today I got out a groves 12″ steel back saw I got from a carboot sale for 50p .the handle and plate are perfect but someone had tried to sharpen it and messed it up so I put it in my saw vice filed all the teeth off until level.
I have 2 large industrial hacksaw bladder 10 tpi and14 tpi so I set to and arrange the hacksaw blade in front of my saw plate flush with each other and fasten in saw vice I now have a perfect 14tpi guide for my file to follow twenty minutes later we have a perfect set of new teeth.
Next is to sharpen then set ten one more light sharpening and test.
Result is perfect cut true to the pencil line.
A happy woodworker.
