Hey,
Does anyone here own a Schroeder hand drill, like this one:

I’m referring to the larger one. It says here that both sizes are single pinion, but I’ve read the larger one is double pinion. I haven’t been able to confirm this via photos or anything.
I’m not looking at buying an older Miller Falls hand drill via Ebay at the moment. I just got burned by someone selling a M.F. no 2 drill on Ebay that they claimed was useable when in fact it was terminally damaged. And also on another purchase that was misrepresented. So I’m pretty much put off from Ebay at the moment. I think that these old drills have so many places that can be loose or worn that it almost doesn’t make sense to buy one if you intend to actually use it. Or unless you can actually hold it in your hands and inspect it first. I also found out that, no matter who’s fault it is, the buyer is expected to pay for return shipping. I got completely ripped off, and they STILL expected me to pay to return it. How that makes for a safe and confident buying experience on Ebay I will never know.
Anyone? Thanks 🙂
