I just cut a kerf, inserted the blade, and then filled the kerf with epoxy.
That blade isn’t going anywhere
It looks nice Joe!
That’s a good idea – to personalize and customize the tool to your choice of look, shape and feel. A small amount of customisation can improve the ergonomics for you and also how you feel about the tool, which may also reflect in what you make with it!
Personally I like the cutout on the bottom of the stanley brand knife as I find my middle finger rests in this naturally with my index finger on top of the blade and gives good control. I guess there’s no reason that a wooden handle couldn’t also be shaped like that if desired though.

I hope you are right. I would have secured it with two rivets. You would be shocked to see, how easy it is to remove thick epoxy layers from old model planes – for example on tubes that secured the wings. Cleaning the tubes on the inside – instead of replacing them – is more work.
Well, this said, gratulations anyway! Your knife looks nice and useful. do you intend to give it some finish, or simply wait for blood, sweat and tears?

Im not worried about the blade coming out. It shouldn’t have a lot of force applied to it
