Welcome! / Forums / Project Series / Carrying Tote / i did it – and if i can any one can too!
Hi to you all!
A few weeks ago i read a post on Paul’s blog. I’m sure i read it, althoug i can’t find it anymore. Paul wrote about a personal story about is eyes and he went to see a doctor… and he also told a story about a violine player who played and continued performing when one of the violine string snaped. I belive that the violinist’s name is Itzhak Perlman…
Well, it was just a simple story, like lots of other stories… but this one hit me in my mind and heart.
I just stop all the complaines and did the first thing i could with what i had. In just a couple of houres!
This carring tote for my wife put a few small vases.
Just with my chinese scrap tools (the block plane cost 3,5€, the bench is from an old door in the top of a dishwashmachine, the saw cost 2€, and the clamps 1,5€ each and sand paper to sharp the “aldi chisels”, the rasp i had it a few years ago). The wood came from a old pallet.
If I did it anyone can DO IT TOO! No more excuses, and no more complaines and it was a wonderfull “therapy”.
When i put the finish i’ll show it
Good job buster… I like your spirit. That “door bench” is genius and shows a real determination to “just get on with it”.
I just spotted the dishwasher under the bench top 🙂 brilliant. Upcycling at its best.
Well it’s time to update!
I got the boldness to “try” to carve a “rose” and painted around the not… My first one ever!
It has e few gaps and inperfections but was a lot of fun!
There goes the pictures
Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year to you all!
Well done Antonio! The rose around the knot is a great touch.
Nice work.
