Hi all, I thought I’ll introduce myself briefly here..
As a boy, I grew up in the woods in the Netherlands and the house where I grew up has been in constant renovation more than 25 years by my parents still living there. Then, as a student, I left the home to study architecture and construction work to become a teacher. But it never got to that, the ways of life set me on the tracks of computers and the internet and I was fascinated by that.
I moved very much in my life and always took care of any repairs or renovation of the places I lived. Usually using hand tools. For most of the work, I always liked using wood. Be it shelves, racks, tables, a new bed, walls or the doghouse. I like wood and it is the material with which I’m most familiar and with which I’m always able to pull off any ideas or requirements. Recently I replaced some metal- and chrome parts on my motorcycle with…. Wood indeed.
Not sure if I should consider my love for wood genetic or addictive.
I never built any real woodworking furniture though. And this has now found it’s way into my system. And I truly enjoy Paul’s videos and blog entries. I recognise a mindset and lifestyle that reminds me in many ways of myself.
So here I am, just starting out on my path into real woodworking. I might have some questions to this forum in next near future.. Maaaany questions I guess.
But I will try to give back to the forum as well, reporting on my activities and learnings.
Have a great day!
Igor14 August 2015 at 3:48 pm #129369Igor, great to have you here. Sounds like you have some good experience already. So when you try some of Paul’s techniques, they should feel right for you. It’s really great when you practice what you have learned from Paul and joints are tight and projects are solid as rocks.
We look forward to your participation.
