Hi everyone
For a long time my wife asked me “why you do not make a jeweler?”. My answer was always “I have no machines at home, I have them at work and there ‘I can not do.” Now I have a few machines at home, but do not use. After a course of 9 days with Paul and his team, I lost the fear of work by hand and now only use the machines at work.
And every day less
So it is that I’ve made the jewelry box for my wife
The wood is mahogany and Wenge, the inner base of the drawers is leather and the finish is a hard oil, organic, the brand Auro. I use it for floors and furniture
I played a bit with dovetails to break the symmetry
Here I have some photos of the process and finish.
Thank You

Wonderful work, Natxo. Your wife must be so happy. The design of the top is really great and the inside boxes look like they fit perfectly.
Personally, I like symmetry, so I like the dovetails on the inside boxes better. But if you (and your wife) are happy, that is what matters most.
Your cutting dovetails like a pro and only after 9 days, freeing yourself from reliance on machinery must be an exhilarating experience. Congrats on a beautiful box and welcome to the world of hand tooling.
