Knock-down Workbench

I am building the workbench from Paul’s book (single top and tool well) but I am including the wedge and bolt system from the online workbench videos (two tops and tool well) from youtube so it can be portable.
I am just about to start assembly.
Should I use a 2×2 batten and fasten to both the tool well and apron from underneath? or should I glue them together?
Has anybody else tried to make the single worktop bench a knock-down bench?
I just remembered Paul built a small bench for the wood shows last year…which was portable. If you look at the picture before assembly you can see the tool well was glued to the apron.
