I am in the process of building the work bench and Lee Valley has announced free shipping till the 13th of November. I took advantage of this to order my vise, although the basic shipping was free they still charged the $15.00 extra shipping fees. Any savings is welcome.

I went with the large quick release steel bench vise.

I am tempted to get a router plane as well, but Lie Nielsen is having an event this Friday in Trenton NJ. I am hoping that they might have an event discount on their version.

Jim, good choice, when I bought mine I chose the medium, regretted it and should have got the large one.
