I’m based in London where it’s quite hard to find furniture quality timber, especially hardwoods, thought I’d start a thread to share information in case others are finding the same difficulty.
I just discovered an amazing SE London place called Catford Timber (Google for details), they have quite a range of sawn and large planed hardwood boards in stock (need to order some PAR boards) and are very friendly and gave me a guided tour of the stock. Hardwood species and prices on their website, they said sawn is 10% less than the published prices. Haven’t bought anything yet but will be returning to.
