Just purchased an old Marples 44 plough plane, have been cutting grooves with it for a couple of days now.
The plough is fantastic. Feels solid, the fence is parallel, the cutters take an edge easily and most important the rods do not loosen as you work. Really everything that nagged me about my other plough works they way it should on this one.
I strongly recommend it.
That’s great, Orestes. When you find a tool that works like it should, you can’t help but smile. I wish you many happy years of grooving with that plane.
I’ve got the Veritas which has been known to slip from time to time.
