I’m finally wrapping up my first semester in Mechanical Design and Fabrication. For my final project, I made this nifty little box to display some of the projects in my portfolio. The wood on the outside is bubinga. The inside of the box is made from a solid block of walnut. I cut out the recesses with the CNC mill. Only the recesses were done with the mill. I made all the rest by hand. The aluminum pieces are a few of the projects I had to make in my one of my CNC classes. I wanted to show how modern technology and old school craftsmanship can work together, not be exclusive of each other.
Very cool project, George. The top really opens the eyes! Nicely done.
Very nice, I like the wood. I have not used a CNC but have seen them in action. Great job.
