My account name is @Ed. When I post, the posting is shown as being from Ed. There is another user with a different account name, @etmo, but whose postings also show up as being from Ed. For example, in a list of Community Activity, you see a bunch of postings from “Ed,” some from me, some from @etmo. I think this is very confusing, especially when the two of us reply to the same conversation.
Is there some way for me to change the name that shows up for me in the Activity listing? I’d rather have my name match my username as it is now, but it’s more important to have things not be confusing. I looked through my account settings but did not see a place to change this.
I’m not in any way complaining about anything @etmo has posted. I enjoy reading what he’s written, but I do want to have it be clearer who’s posting what. I’m surprised the system is configured in a way that this is possible, actually.
I’m the other Ed…since the first Ed, above, is a much better woodworker than I will ever be, I enjoy when others give me credit for the work he has done and the great posts he makes. Brings up my average, so to speak.
So I hope this flaw in the system remains unfixed
😉 of course I’m joking in case that wasn’t clear
But seriously, since I was the 2nd Ed on this forum, I’m happy to have the change done on my account, and the Ed above can remain Ed. Whatever works is fine with me.
