Cheers
Nice work Frank!
@sidreilley – shop projects seem to be a necessity to me too. I’ve several items in the few weeks such as a marking knife, winding sticks, shooting board and am working on some planes at the moment.1 February 2015 at 9:38 pm #124211My wife says about the same,She says stop making tools and make more to sell, I say he who has most tools wins. Besides it’s more fun to make things with tools you make
Frankj2 February 2015 at 3:29 am #124222Looking good Frank. How do you like the the kerfing plane? I’ve been debating making one myself but wasn’t sure if it would work well enough to be worth it. I don’t have a frame saw but I do have a D8 thumbhole rip saw that is pretty coarse that I think might work well for resawing.
5 February 2015 at 1:50 am #124384Frank – Hope you’re still reading responses to this post. Those tools are fantastic.
For the kerfing plane and the moxon vise, did you make the wooden screws yourself, too? I’ve been experimenting with that and wondered if you have any tricks. I need to refurbish an old screw-arm plough plane.
5 February 2015 at 3:02 am #124386.? When you try to cut threads in wood do not do it with dry wood use it green if you can or soak it in min real oil. The threads on the Kerfing plane áre one inc. The moxom vise are 1 1/2 , I am making a new one and a tail vise I will use 3/4 all thread on both the wood works ok but the steel will do better I think.
