Well, my original plan was to build every masterclasses project. I’m two behind at this point. So I would like to catch those up and stay with the upcoming projects. I have so many additional projects in my head I don’t know where to begin. So I’m going to go with the flow and build new skills and see what presents itself.
I have a lot of things to build. Am currently finishing up a small bowl for myself then I have some canes to make for relatives. My tool chest I started 10 months ago still needs a lid and chisel tray and another box for drill bits. At some point I want to start a computer desk, then an entertainment shelf unit for my TV and some bookshelves….Dunno when I will find the time for all this!
Oh gosh, my ideas are bigger than my free time available to build. Bible box folks, there wedding anniversary is the day before Valentine’s day. Also an indoor planter boxfor the wife. And a new workbench and coffee table. Anymore free time will be working on more woodworking masterclasses projects.
1 January 2014 at 4:31 am #24950I am currently building a storage shed, trying to get stuff out of my garage so I can have more work space. It will have double doors about 7′ wide. I am planning to make the doors by hand since I won’t be able to buy the doors that I want.
1 January 2014 at 10:09 am #24955I currently have three projects on the go have a second cane that requires the twist applying, a mahogany handle for the Tenon saw restoration and a under the bench tool chest to sit alongside my existing tool chest.
Steve I would be interested in what plan you come up with for your doors I would like to replace the up and over door on my garage with two wooden doors.1 January 2014 at 10:44 am #24957What ever I make it will be on a small scale. I just do not have the space.
I just try and take what I can from projects . I know unless I can make some space I will not be able to complete any of the bigger projects.
I do feel I’m missing out just got to deal with what I have got but it is starting to effect development of skills.
Also like a lot of other people there’s the time element. So frustration kicks in.
Sorry to be a bit negative but issues I have got to try and over come as I feel getting behind with my woodworking.
Enough doom and gloom
Happy New year every one.Happy new year from Belgium as well. My first project will be some home made clamps, probably something like this… http://lumberjocks.com/George_SA/blog/32027
I have a few bought ones but the larger ones are quite expensive so I’ll have a go.
Then I’ll could make a start on a bench. Only I don’t have a place to put it, so I’ll need to build a new shed in the garden…
Now I have to find a way to justify a 20 square m shed in the back yard to the significant other. To be continued
DiegoI’m looking forward to seeing everyones projects this year. I’ve not been been following the projects but not making them. I’m developing a range of boxes at the moment. I don’t know if any of you remember but I posted some pictures of a small dovetailed box with a waney edge last year. I’ve been working on improving that design and I have an exhibition next week. I’m hoping I can get regular orders from them.
