In progess, just clamped up. standard mortice and tenon, with a stretcher same style as the coffee table i built (through tenon with craftsmas style chamfers). All the joints pulled tight with clamps, and square within a 1/16″. Building as part of a birthday gift, just have to pick out fabric for top. Base is about 14″ x 18″ plywood top will sit 1″ on each side. All standard dimension lumber except for legs, found some 1-3/4″ x 2″ that i planed using one of Paul’s thicknesser jigs.

2 March 2015 at 9:10 pm #125193Looks great, Brian. Can’t wait to see the finished product.
I’m just getting ready to glue up a table with almost identical design (haunched M&T aprons and lower center stretcher connecting lower rails). I’m nervous about the glue-up – its the point of no return!
3 March 2015 at 12:42 am #125196Nice work. Looks like it will be a great match with the coffee table too.
Thanks everyone, picked out fabric tonight, oak leaves and acorns…. ( on an oak foot stool???? Get it… …. ..??..?. Haha… Ha….ha….) okay so its not really funny but it wasnt cheap material although i dont buy a lot of material. Tomorrow it gets shellaced and i will start the upholstry part. Ill take a couple pics if i remember.
3 March 2015 at 3:45 pm #125208Very nice, great work, joints could not be better, choice of wood grain is perfect,
FrankjGot it done, 2 layers of foam pad, 2 layers of batting. Stapled with 1/2″ staples in a 1/2″ plywood board. Im no pro, and it does help with 2 people. Just have to attach top to base, i will use 1″ angle brackets, makes it easier to pull off should something get spilled. Sorry about picture orientation if its wrong, im no pro at that either. Thank you for the kind words all.
