I’m noticing a ton of No. 70 cabinet scrapers on ebay, though I am after an 80 cabinet scraper i look at these pivoting heads on a stick and have to wonder about them..Leverage yada yada. Does anyone own one and can offer an opinion?

I believe that they were intended to remove stencils from packing crates, though if you need to remove a lot of wood they will do the trick.
Rather agricultural in their finish compared to the scrapers made for cabinet makers.
The best all round scraper in my opinion is the No: 80 pattern; the Record and Stanley versions are almost identical and the can be set to do quite fine work. The tension screw allows the blade to be flexed and to reach into shallow hollows.
Depending where you are they are quite plentiful on the used tools market.
