Hi folks, I bought this little saw and the person told me its known as a pad saw. Anybody know what a pad saw is used for? It’s 11 tpi and filed in rip and needs sharpening. i presume this is sharpened in the same manner as all other rip saws?
It’s got a really nice handle and the blade retracts into the handle but there is a slot cut in the back of the handle for the blade as well so the blade can slip right through the whole lot.
It’s for cutting holes in confined areas or areas where a coping/bow saw can’t reach. The blade can be adjusted for depth if the need arrises. It’s a handy tool and you have a nice example.
Not a clue. I think the blades are meant to be disposable. Not sure though. Take a look at this link.
