What can I say, I want to show it off a little to those who can appreciate how fun this project was to do. I made this as a gift for my daughter. I had to ask her to promise not to draw all over it (she’s still young).
I didn’t like how easily the lid slipped open when held at an angle so I inserted a small, 1/8″ magnet where the lid overlaps the short side. This gives it a positive close and is still easy to open.
The DTs fit very well, which I am very happy about, but they weren’t exactly straight from the saw. I had to do some finicky paring to fit. I chalk this up, at least partially, to the fact that I was using hardwood which doesn’t give much when you are trying to squeeze those tails in there.
Cheers,
Jeff
