Welcome! / Forums / Project Series / Wallclock / Pictures of your progress building the Wall Clock
Greg – those are beautiful.
Nicholas – very nice; I like the idea of making it a weather station.

Love all of the clocks you built, everyone. Now make some bigger ones and desktop ones. Think horizontal with very short sides and so on. Think mantel clocks too. The world is your oyster or something. Also, think about putting a cross rail in and glass in the bottom so you can have a mock pendulum clock too.
Hope you gift-makers get good credit from the recipients of your work. I feel really happy that you have taken these steps. Like a Christmas present to me.
Blessings to all,
Paul
I’m a little late to this clock showing party, but better late than never. I actually finished the clock more or less in rhythm with the broadcasts, but I didn’t get a camera until Christmas. Living in central Pennsylvania, I had already had some black walnut and white oak on hand, and didn’t have any nice pine. So the clock got walnut and oak. I sent it to one of my brothers for a late Christmas present. I left off the bottom trim so the gift recipient could decide to hang it on the wall or put it on his desk.
Beautiful clock Eric…what finish did you use? I really like that color combination.
Very nice workmanship Eric; that would be a very meaningful Christmas gift.
John
Thanks guys for the kinds words.
Greg – the finish is several coats of garnet shellac topped with a coat of furniture wax. By the way, I’m in south central PA, so we’re not that far apart geographically. Do you ever go to events such as the Baltimore Woodworking Show (this weekend) or the PATINA tool sale in March?
Eric…thanks for the info concerning the finish that you used. I live along the Ohio river so I don’t travel to the Maryland area very often. Tend to go to events in the Columbus and Cincinnati area mostly.
Finished my second clock so thought I would post a pic. Used some Cherry scraps so the dimensions are slightly smaller than what Paul calls for in the plans. Looking forward to the Boxes now. Love seeing eveyone’s progress. Keep up the good work!
