Don’t know of the wood but Google never fails 🙂
Triplochiton scleroxylon is the real name of the tree also known as Obeche.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triplochiton_scleroxylonIt’s a know allergen, reactions to dust and wood are dermatitis, nettle rash, asthma, lung congestion, wheezing, sneezing.

28 August 2013 at 8:52 pm #17208The dust from Cypress, if I get it on my face around my eyes, causes my eyes to get red and puffy, and they itch really bad. It takes a couple of days to clear up. So now I wear a full vented facemask when I am sanding it.
I have never had any other reactions to any other types of wood.
