So, I gonna ask a n00b question here. How do you post with images inline?
Yes, I see the img button and have used it, but when I Submit the post with images, two things happen:
— one, the post disappears from the forum, although I can still get to the via my Profile
— two, the image links are all ‘broken’ as if I had posted images with permission issues. But, ‘Opening in a new tab’ opens the images up without issue. It isn’t a permissions thing…
So, help is requested… how do you insert images inline within a post? Cause I’m doing something wrong – I’ve seen others do it, so I know it’s possible…
Thanks in advance!

29 March 2017 at 7:51 am #310700there are two ways to put pictures in your post. The first is to use the (IMG) button a inserting the URL where the photo is hosted online. unfortunately, this depends on the permissions on the host site being correct, and on the forum’s spam filter being set To allow the transaction when folks use the link.
The spam filter is apparently currently set to borderline paranoid level.
It seems to be rejecting some posts with links in them. I finally had to just allude to links for a couple posts this weekend. I believe One of the forum hosts has mentioned this and they are working on it.You can avoid the issue if you actually upload the file from your machine ( or the cloud) to the forum as an attachment using the (Select File) button under the window you type in. Menus work you through it.
With that method, you will get a link in the body of the message wherever your cursor is with a thumbnail attachment after the message.
The advantage is that the forum’s resources are doing the actual hosting, and not your host site. Once it is uploaded, anybody can see it, even if where you host the image online is deleted.

I appreciate the response. The paranoia level explanation makes sense as it not only showed as a broken link (that isn’t actually broken…) but it ALSO sent my post into some kind of posting Neverlwnd.
Once again, thanks for the rational explaination.

7 February 2018 at 11:40 am #463637Guys,
I have a different issue. I’m going to try it here (sorry for hijacking the thread a bit).
There is an option to insert an image inline by selecting ‘insert into content’ after upload. Like so:
It now says on my screen ‘attachemnt file=”gouge.jpg” between square brackets. But when I klick ‘submit’ it will change the gouge.jpg bit to some number and the image is there only as attachment.
This is annoying if you want to explain something in steps and you want to have the images inline to complete the story.
Anyone any clue?
Mic
