Neither The Lee-Valley nor the Veritas net page mentions a fleam on the rip tenon saw, and both state the tool to be made in Canada. I thought it would be interesting to take a close-up look at my tenon rip saw. At 10x magnification the teeth don’t seem to be having any fleam, as attached photo hopefully shows.
My Festool 500 Domino router is marked to be 10 mm from the base to the centre of the router bit. It’s a perfect 3/8″. I often wonder if the base was intended for the North American market, but ended up on a product for Europe. Could it be that Veritas delivers rip tenon saws with hybrid cut for some markets, and this one by mistake ended up domestically?
