Over a recent 36 hour period, I scored some amazing pieces. Some from Craigslist but also many from a local consignment shop. Note: Jyst realized I don’t have a pic of the Miller’s Falls Brace. Check ’em out:

Seeing your location, you can try the flea market at the Medowlands. Its hit or miss. I got some nice saws, wooden planes, squares, and so forth. Most things have been $5 or less. I’m in J.C. NJ.Meadowlands Flea Market??!!?? I haven’t heard about it. I’ll have to check it out. Is there website you can share?

my love of woodworking. I actually got my first plane, an amazing No. 5, from the local hardware guy. He has an amazing display of antique tools in the front window. I’ll attach a pic someday. I told him I was starting to work wood with my son (6 y.o) and he walked right over to the display and handed me a gorgeous Stanley No. 5 to get me started. I personally find the 5 utilitarian given my stature ~ 6′ 4″. I use it for nearly everything. The 4 is too small in hand for me.

,@wpollock. I share your size well and like the bigger planes too. I switched using wooden planes because I feel my hands can grab should and wrap around the planes easier. However, the stanley’s are easier control.
Here are some of my most recent finds. Two rounds and a hollow and a 112.
