Welcome! / Forums / Project Series / Breadboard-end Cutting Board / Sapele board
After having cut the boards for this several months ago I finally got around to finishing it off. I did most of the work on the weekend and pounded the pins after work today. Finish is mineral oil and beeswax.
This project looks simple but once you get into it, your accuracy needs to be spot on. I’m going to incorporate these breadboard ends into a little table I have planned.
That looks really good, very crisp joinery. I bet the grain really popped out when you put the oil on.
So who’s the lucky recipient?
Thanks Mathew, Its going on my kitchen table as a decorative platter. I debated the finish as I was going to shellac it but chose the finish I use for wooden utensils and my other cutting boards. It’s a really good project to undertake and will have many useful applications in the future.
