Welcome! / Forums / General Woodworking Discussions / Tools and Tool Maintenance/Restoration / Saw Retoothing Machine
I have been reading Paul’s blogs on saws for a while. The though of making hand/back saws started rolling around in my mind. When I was young my dad sharpened tools for a while and had a Foley Belsaw retoother. They do not make them any more and I have googled have not found anything like it.
Does anyone here know of someone that makes new retoothing machines?
I dont know of any modern retoothing machines, surely there is something out there for you.
It is quite a coincidence that you start this thread on retoothing and I am, as I write, retoothing a tenon saw by hand following Paul’s instructional video. I ruined the saw a few days ago as I was sharpening it, 20 TPI (very small teeth) combined with the incorrect file. Lesson learned!
Best of luck on your search! I’m hoping for the best in my endeavour. 😀
rafi you didn’t ruin the saw just messed up the job after your practice session now you can redo it right.. practice runs are quite common in this shop ha
good luck this time
