Just wondering what folks are using for saw storage. I’ve got my backsaws in my tool box but I have several handsaws that are just hanging on nails. I’ve been drawing out some diagrams for a proper cabinet/frame type of arrangement for hanging my large handsaws. The problem is now that I’ve searched the Internet i’ve seen all sorts of statements about the proper way to hang saws. Some say don’t hang them with the tote down and they should be hung tote up others say not to hang them with their teeth touching wood and still some say it doesnt matter. Any ideas?
Here’s what I did.
It holds 5 saws. Works for me.
It hang on the wall with a French cleat and can go in my tool box by sitting on the side runners that the tills ride on.
I doubt it matters if they’re hung up, down or sideways. Also their teeth are used to cut wood, so I wouldn’t be bothered about them touching wood.
Here’s a blog I did on how I made my till.

I just put some dowels into a board of wood and screwed it to the wall. Works absolutely fine! I got the inspiration from Paul’s workshop where they do the same.
I would love to build a proper cabinet to hand saws, back saws, saw files, etc, but I won’t have time for months and months!
George.
